2011 saw the return of the RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship in Australia. RE/MAX Australia Regional Director Nicholas Thiele kicked off the season with the official ceremonial Tee shot at Gold Creek Country Club, ACT.. Finals qualifying commenced February 26th throughout Australia and will continue right through to the Championship decider 16th-18th September at Palm Meadows, QLD Australia .


ABOUT THE RE/MAX WORLD LONG DRIVE CHAMPIONSHIP:
The RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship evolved out of the USA National Long Drive Championship, which began in 1975. It has grown from a mostly low-key event to one that includes golfers from virtually every corner of the world.  Competitors come from more than 125 countries, and are in it to win it. Longdrive Events Australia who powers the RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship Australia, will be sending 2x Opens and 1x Senior Competitor to the RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship in Mesquite NEVADA USA, later this year! Divisions

There are five competitive divisions. Any golfer can select any category that they are eligible for:

    • Open Men’s Division - All competitors, regardless of age, may select the Open Division.
    • Senior Division - Competitors who are 45 years of age and over by the first day of the the Championship Final.
    • Super Senior Division - Competitors who are 50 years of age and over by the first day of the Championship Final
    • Legends – Competitors who are 60 years of age and over by the first day of the Championship Final
    • Amateur – Open to all competitors, driver loft restricted to Eight degrees of loft or higher.
